Recent Mx Rule
Changes
Two changes have come about
from a recent phone call from Kip Bigelow of the
AMA. First is that the District won't be involved
with the MX rider advancement. This will be handled
solely by the AMA.
Second is 65's running in the
80X class and the following is a quote from the AMA.
"As per the rule 2009 on page 26 Letter G #1. It
states “Minicycles-all engines types. All minicycle
class machines must be run in the class for which
they were originally manufactured (except
schoolboy).”
This means that at 65cc minicycle
can not race with a 85cc minicycle. This rule is in
place because the difference between a small, young,
inexperienced racer in the 65cc class is of contrast
to a large, older, experienced racer in the 85cc
class. In the interest of safety this rule was put
into place. "
