District 11 Monthly Meeting Minutes November 27, 2007
Meeting was called to order by President Jim Barnhart with 17 in
attendance. Those attending were: Jim Barnhart, Dan Knecht, William
Kaeppner, Janet Fout, Sheryl Blum, Jeremy Osborn, Marie Barnhart,
Jayne Chrystal, Art Pickelheimer, Bill and Mitzi Barnes, Tom Cowher,
Henry Swartz, Wayne Olson, Mary Hamilton, Ruth Hughes, Dennis Deeter. Minutes were read by Jim, and approved from the last meeting.
Treasurer’s report: Joe reported that we netted ~$918 more on Thrills in The Hills, than in 2006. He also stated that we have a positive balance heading into the last month of the year. So things are looking better. Mary questioned if all the trophy sponsors had paid. Mitzi replied that there is still one outstanding balance.
Office Report: Mitzi Barnes reported that all points are up to date except Enduro & Road. All district cards have been sent out, and the main schedule is up on the website. Also, she said that there are 27 Harescramble, 69 Motocross, 16 Grand Prix, and 8 Hill Climb events for 2008.
Motocross Report: Sheryl Blum has nothing to report. She is working on the Motocross banquet.
Hare Scramble Report: Marie Barnhart reports that Krash had a Harescramble event with a low turnout. No other races till March. She is working on the off-road banquet.
Enduro Report: Charlie Kline was absent.
GP Report: Henry Swartz has nothing to report. He is working on the banquet.
Road Report: Mary Hamilton has nothing to report.
Hillclimb Report: Ruth Hughes reports that the Hill Climb banquet has changed to March 30th.
Dirt Track Report: Art Pickelheimer - Nothing to report
Congress report: Mary reported that everything passed and is up on the website.
Dan reported that the Mx classes have changed, and they will need to update our class list before Feb. 28th, so that it makes it into the Newsletter. Also the RPV for class advancement from C to b has been raised to 11.5.
Bill reported that he has written a letter to the AMA about the acknowledgment of UTV’s in regards to competition. He has not received a response. He also states that Hocking Valley will hold a Mini- National for 2008. Bill had also attended a 4x4 convention where there was a lot of discussion about the UTV’s in competition.
Newsletter Report: Jayne Chrystal questioned Joe on how many issues that he had paid. Joe responded that he has paid every invoice that he has received. She also recommended an increase in advertising fees.
Website report: Bill Barnes has the schedule updated on the website, and asked for feedback on any changes that anyone would like to see. He also asked if we should list any banquet sponsors on the website. Marie responded that we should add Moose racing on there.
New Business: Marie has been working on the off-road banquet, and has a good price on trophies, hoodies, and shirts.
Sheryl is still working on a place and a date for the Motocross banquet.
Janet made a motion to distribute $500 to Motocross and Harescramble, and $250 to Enduro, Road, and Hillclimb. This motion was 2nd by Sheryl, and passed by a vote of 7-3.
Tom mentioned that a correction was needed in the super senior class, as it is 50+, not 45+.
Sheryl made a motion to take the women’s class off probation for 2008. This motion was 2nd by Jeremy Osborn, and passed by a vote of 7-1.
Janet made a motion to adjourn. 2nd Sheryl.
